I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Spilberg (Amsterdam) in Apr 2023
Interview
Initially, the interview was going well until they inquired about my salary expectations. I provided a range slightly above the minimum and below the maximum. They then asked if I would be open to negotiation, to which I replied positively. However, the interviewer proposed a value slightly below the minimum, stating that it might not be satisfactory but could be considered alongside other benefits. During the conversation, they asked additional questions, and once again, the interviewer attempted to lower my salary expectations. At this point, I mentioned that if they didn't have any suitable openings for my profile, they could either keep my information in their database or simply conclude our screnning. To make matters worse, the interviewer proceeded to assert that the Python market in the Netherlands is quite limited and that my expectations were too high for someone currently unemployed. In response, I politely expressed my gratitude and promptly ended the call. My impression of this agency is that they prioritize selling developers for the lowest possible value.

Question 1
What is your salary expectation? would you be open to negotiations? What is the lowest amount you would accept to work for? If you have a proposal below that minimum, would you accept it?
Thanks for your review. Unfortunately we could not find eachother in the salary range. We appreciate you giving us this feedback, we can use this in future interviews. Good luck finding the right opportunity in Python.
Kind regards, Spilberg
