I was contacted by Sphere 3D's third party recruiter via LinkedIn, and we began email correspondence which lead to a phone screen with the recruiter. The call went well, the recruiter knew the business and industry well and did a great job selling the company (I was not sold based on their website, job description, and Glassdoor reviews). After sending over some writing samples, I was then set-up with an onsite interview with the Vice President, Corporate Programs and Communications, the position's manager. On-site was casual, as stated it would be, a meeting to get a sense of each other before moving onward. The VP was very professional, warm and enthusiastic about finding the right fit. Based on my skills, I believe I was a great fit for the job. Culture wise, we may have been a bit off. I come from a long line of start-up technology companies; Sphere definitely gave me a dispersed corporate feel. Overall, the process was relatively quick in comparison to other interviews and very straight forward in regards to expectations. And although I was not offered a position, I still left with a positive feeling towards those I interacted with.
