This company is not well-known or respected, seems to have a dismal corporate culture, and provides mediocre benefits and pay. Yet somehow they require all candidates to pass an advanced assessment exam before they will even deem your resume worthy to look at.
I passed said exam, so the staffing company submitted my resume to the hiring manager. They also put me in contact with an employee who had just started so he could tell me more about the job and what they were looking for. We had what seemed to be a pleasant conversation which ended with me sincerely thanking him and him wishing me luck and telling me I'd do great on the interview.
Feeling confident and optimistic about the whole thing, I then got a phone call from the staffing agency the next day saying that the employee I talked to had gone to the hiring manager and told him I was not a good candidate, so the interview was off.
If this is the kind of desperate, two-faced, back-stabbing that goes on BEFORE an actual interview, I don't even want to know what it's like to work here. I feel like I dodged a bullet AND it was only for a six month contract. Ridiculous.
