I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Southwest Airlines (Dallas, TX) in Apr 2018
Interview
Phone interview went great and interviewer asked very good questions. I received a face-2-face. Roundtrip flights to Dallas were on unclean SWA aircraft with crew who did not appear to match the "Southwest Way" in appearance and service. I hadn't flown SWA since 2012 when the back door flew open on take-off, so was expecting "fun" and great service. In the group session, a maintenance employee interrupted the session in a Superhero suit which seemed to distract from the important information we were being given about the job. One-on-one interview was with a flight attendant and a person taking notes on a computer (non-flight-attendant?) It seemed rushed as it was the last group of the day with "canned" questions (unlike the phone interview). Information that was given about expected income and actual hours "flying" in the phone interview did not match what we were told in the group meeting. We were told we would sit Friday, Saturday, Sunday every month in our base on reserve and possibly not fly. I was told in my phone interview we would be guaranteed flying one 3-day trip per week in addition to being on reserve which is where the higher income potential would come in. Had I known about the Fri/Sat/Sun reserve and no guarantee to fly a 3-day trip per month, I would have taken myself out of the face-2-face invite. Seemed like a bait-n-switch for those who were familiar with the industry or currently working in it. Made the decision to not accept an offer, if I was given one, after moderate turbulence on my return flight with passengers screaming due to the recent accident. I am also concerned about SWA's future as a profitable airline due to their safety issues recently.

The interview was on zoom in 2022. It was with a recruiter and flight attendant. They were very nice and made me feel so comfortable throughout the process. The whole interview took around 30 minutes.

So far, it has been moving at a great pace. I have only completed my on demand interview, and I am scheduled to attend my face to face in the near future! The online interview was great - be yourself, smile, and use the uninterrupted time to really express yourself! I'm very grateful for this opportunity and best of luck to all those applying!
