Interview
4-5 interviews over 3 days with potential direct manager, potential team member and other departments. Great opportunity to learn about the organization and hear different perspectives. Standard questions.
There were quite a few last minute changes to timing of interviews, the recruiter reached out at odd times to reschedule a few of the interviews.
During the process the hiring manager reached out via email to ask for 3 references.
The manager gave specific dates to when they would reach out to references (Friday and Monday). The following Wednesday a few of my references shared they had not heard from anyone. I followed up to see if that was still part of the plan and the manager shared they would be reaching out early in the following week. They did not end up reaching out to references at all.
It’s a tough job market and asking for 3 references requires preparation effort on both the interviewee and reference side, it felt like my time and my professional networks' time was not respected. I would have preferred they shared they "may" reach out to references vs. sharing specifics times they would and then not following through.

Tell me about a time you experienced a challenge with a community partner and how you handled that challenge?
The phone screen was straightforward, but the next interview was disappointing. The person hiring seemed disengaged from the beginning, regardless of my responses or the questions I asked. It was unclear whether they were new to interviewing, but the lack of interaction made it difficult to gauge the role or expectations. After that conversation, I never received any follow-up or closure from the recruiting team.

Google meet with HR no video, easy questions. Was told they would send out a message by Friday (this was Monday) and they sent a message Thursday. I responded 2 days later since I didn’t see it right away. I got the second round, but not response. I messaged on LinkedIn and nothing. Ghosted me. Rude!

Three standard interviews. A general, technical and cultural. It was fast, respectful and I knew quickly the next steps. The cultural interview was really odd. I felt like I was being interviewed by three “mean girls” and found the questions to be somewhat petty or superficial.
