Interview process involved a single interview which included a task and competency based questions - this was all done on site. Social Work England assigned a task to complete prior to the interview, this was communicated to myself Friday after 4PM to complete ahead of my interview which was on the following Thursday. The task was a large task to essentially propose your strategy in the role and discuss the details of how you would fulfil certain aspects of the role. The interview didn't go too well for me, I was nervous and didn't adapt well to the single in-person, on site opportunity to make an impression. This was compounded by the fact that all my prep time leading up to the interview was focused around the presentation task and creating the supporting documents. I do not feel it was fair to assign such a large task, with very little communication during the application process. I also believe a single interview doesn't grant candidates a fair chance to convery skills and relevant experience in support of their application. Ultimately, the interview process at Social Work England did not respect my time. Nearly 2 weeks after the interview - over 10 hours of my free time invested into the assigned task (whilst juggling a demanding role and cancelling weekend plans because of incredibly short notice) and Social Work England haven't even communicated my application status or provided feedback.
