Junior Implementer Specialist (See Description) Interview

      4 Jun 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Gdańsk
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Smart Media (Gdańsk) in Jun 2015

      Interview

Definitively one of the weirdest interviews I went to. It started out nicely, the interviewer described the company and the usual stuff, but then went straight to evaluating my skills. Only after all that he began to describe the unusual job title - it turned out that this was essentially a Helpdesk position that sometimes involved installing their software directly onto the client's computers in their company. Then, it got weird. The interviewer asked about my expectation towards pay. Now, I've expected this question and tried to find a job title similar to this before the interview, but to no avail. I told the interviewer that I have no information to work with, so I cannot name a sum, but I'd be fine with the average salary for this job. He pondered for a while and replied that it is 1500 zł (for foreign readers - the minimal pay in Poland is 1355 zł). The interviewer asked about what type of job contract I'd prefer, I replied that I'd like the standard contract of employment. He launched into a rant on how this type of contract is the most expensive for the company (which is true, since it protects the employee the most) and then... offered B2B. I'm serious, he offered B2B for a sum that is nearly as low as the minimum wage. Seeing how dumbfounded I was by this offer he told me that since he's doing some accounting tricks that help to keep the part of VAT in the company instead of paying it to government and I will receive the difference in cash... Noped the hell out of there. They called me back a week later, telling me that I did not got the job - I suppose they found a poor soul that has agreed to these conditions.
