Preliminary HR call, fair enough. Then comes the so-called “Workview” round where you’re asked to visit the office and spend half your day talking to different people, supposedly for culture fit. Fine, still manageable.
After that came a detailed assignment (including a recorded explanation), a round with the founder, and a follow-up call about an email that explicitly said they were still reviewing my task. They also requested two references from past managers, which felt excessive for the role.
Throughout the process the marketing recruiter was consistently in touch, scheduling calls, asking for details and references. But when the outcome arrived, all I received was a standard rejection email from HR. No feedback, no follow-up, and no direct communication from the recruiter I’d been dealing with.
Waiting a month for this kind of non-communication felt like a waste of time. The process was long, unclear, and poorly managed. If you don’t respect candidates’ time, don’t expect them to respect your brand. The founder should review how the marketing hiring process is being handled.
