      Entry Level PR Specialist Interview

      4 Dec 2013
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Signature (TX)

      Interview

I received a shockingly quick invitation to interview at their offices after applying online. The office interview gave me a few clues that perhaps the job description was misleading, but I naively agreed to a second interview. The second interview was with one of their employees at a "promotional event"...selling a random item at a Sam's/Costco type store. Their employee was very friendly and nice, and I learned the extent to which their online postings and email communications had misrepresented this company. This was not a job at an "advertising firm" working on "brand development" for "prestigious clients." This was a job with very low base pay trying to sell mediocre items to membership club shoppers in hopes of making enough in commission to have a decent salary. After learning what this position really entailed, I declined the third and final interview.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The questions in the first interview were just basic "sell yourself" type questions. In the second interview, I wasn't asked to try to sell the product, just observe, but made a couple sales anyway and that seemed to go over well.
