I don't believe in sharing negative experiences on this platform for the sake of it but I felt compelled to write this review to help future jobseekers interviewing with Siemens Mobility who may also experience being misled and treated with general disregard by the hiring team. Here's a rundown of events:
- I applied for a maternity cover role in early July.
- 4 weeks later, talent acquisition messages me to confirm salary expectations and ask if I am happy to proceed, which I confirm yes to immediately and after a week or so they schedule the interview.
- The interview is really positive and I am told directly that they like me and I will be invited to the second round, potentially the week after.
- Two weeks go by and after chasing them up I'm told 1st rounds had just finished and given some excuses about annual leave being cause for delay but that I'd most likely receive feedback the week after.
- I hear nothing for three weeks and after chasing the talent acquisition partner for an update, I get a separate generic automated response the same day saying they decided to move forwards with other candidates.
- I chased the hiring manager for the promised feedback and receive no response.
Throughout the process, the internal recruiter was slow to respond and impossible to get through to on the phone.
Come on guys, you're a grown up company - it's fine to reject applicants but don't tell them they are being invited to 2nd round and promise feedback only to leave them hanging and go back on your word! Bad form
