In 2022, I applied for a lab manager position that would serve 2 laboratories (Julien Muffat and Yun Li). After arriving at the time and place for my first in-person interview, no one showed up. I waited 15 minutes and left, emailing the hiring manager. He said he was sick and forgot. We rescheduled, I arrived to the next interview 5 minutes early, knocked on his door but was quickly dismissed since I was early and he was still having lunch. After a standard interview, we scheduled an interview with the other hiring manager. Super nice conversation with standard questions. Visited the lab after with the first hiring manager. Was offered the position with 72K/year. When I asked about the conditions, the salary was actually only 60K, whereas the remaining 12K were expenses that the hiring manager had to pay because of my benefits. This was lower than my current salary. I tried to argue this but got ghosted. A couple of days later I got an email from the admin assistant asking if I had accepted the position.
