I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Shopify (Toronto, ON) in Oct 2023
Interview
Fairly lengthy interview process. Screening call, hiring manager call, life story interview, technical interview with peers, case study presentation.
Pretty time consuming as well. Most companies don't expect you to have too much product knowledge as an applicant but the expectation here is for you to do your homework and come prepared to speak to some basic platform functionality (API knowledge and familairty with admin is helpful)

Question 1
Why would Shopify Plus be a better fit for ecommerce merchants compared to competitors?
It was a straightforward and well-organized process. It started with a Recruiter Screening, followed by a detailed Life Story Interview, a Hiring Manager 1:1, and a final Case Study/Demo. Communication was clear and consistent throughout.

Question 1
How do you handle conversations around platform limitations?
The interview went smoothly and was fairly standard, there was nothing particularly unexpected or unusual about it. After giving it some thought, I chose not to move forward with the opportunity, so I’m not familiar with the subsequent steps in the interview process beyond the initial round.
