I applied online. I interviewed at Shield Financial Compliance
Interview
Started off as a standard interview - HR call followed by a first round, but I learned the job title was misleading. The pay and title were meant for a manager role, but they were looking for a director to develop and oversee an entire region of the business. I would not have applied for such a role had they made this clear from the start.

“Your resume doesn’t align with this role. I’m confused why you are interviewing for this job and not something else?”

We’re sorry the role scope felt unclear during the interview process. Our intent is always to ensure candidates understand both the responsibilities and level of the position early on.
We appreciate your feedback and will use it to improve how we present opportunities going forward.

My interview experience was very positive. The process was structured, professional, and everyone I met was welcoming and respectful. Communication was clear, and I felt the team was genuinely interested in understanding both my skills and who I am as a person.
I appreciated the transparency, the constructive conversations, and the supportive atmosphere during each stage.

Question 1
I was asked about my approach to learning new technologies and whether I’m willing to tackle complex challenges.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Shield Financial Compliance (New York, NY) in May 2025
Interview
The interviewing team was amazing. Recruiter did a great job coordinating and keeping me in the loop of every step. The hiring manager asked insightful questions that clearly related to Content Marketing. I can tell this is a strong organization with smart leadership.
That being said, there were only two issues. First, the entire interview process took 2.5 months. Each interview was spaced out 2 weeks apart. And at one point, the panel completely forgot to join. That's ok -- things happen.
Second, after making it to the final round, the hiring team reached out to my references. Despite positive reviews, they decided to offer the position to another candidate. This is a bad practice. References are limited resources and should be engaged only as final checks.
But overall, I'm happy with the candidate experience at Shield. We won't work together this time, but wishing the best for the organization!
