I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Shelter Insurance
Interview
The hiring process is very lengthly. First meeting was with a recruiter, it was good and took about one hour, at a local coffee shop. Then after my credit and application was approved, I was asked to take an online test. After I passed the test, I had asecond interview with the recruiter, about two weeks after the first interview. The second interview took about two hours at a local agency, which mostly consisted of scripted questions about my warm market and how I would handle certain situations. I was told I would receie a $2000 per month salary plus commissions, and that they would cover most of my expenses but I would be responsible for some expenses. Then after two more weeks I had a telephone interview with the district manager which took about half an hour. The DM told me I would be called in two more weeks to let me know how far along they were hiring process. I was told that I would work for 2-4 weeks. then go to training for 10 days in Missouri (I pay the airfare), then 4 more weeks of work and a second training in Missouri. Then, if hired, I would sign a contract and begin receiving salary, paid after you work a month, on a monthly basis.

I interviewed at Shelter Insurance (Little Rock, AR)
Interview
It was a lot of filler conversation. Did not discuss much about the position. Felt like they already had someone picked out to hire. It would've been nice to actually get good interview practice and discuss the position though.
Laid back interview experience. Person handling the interview was professional and advised how to be a successful agent at Shelter Insurance. Be sure to dress professional . Be sure to have two to three questions for the interviewer.

Why would you be a good candidate for Shelter Insurance
I first interviewed with a local sales manager. A few weeks later I interviewed with three different managers. It was a long process, it probably took over a month to get hired.
