I interviewed twice for the same position. The first time, I came to them to apply and applied online. I proceeded to interview with Lianna, the recruiter, and was moved onto an interview with the CM of the property. (I currently live at the property I applied to!). Both interviews were incredibly professional but in no way intimidating or detached; quite the opposite. Lianna was unlike any recruiter I have ever interacted with; she was invested, inquisitive, supportive, and very much interested in my interview process. I never felt once like she was not listening to me or just shooting of questions; our conversation and interview was very interactive.
I next interviewed with Chrissy, the CM of the Vintage. Having already had a tenant relationship with her, I felt very welcomed and at home in the interview with her. Chrissy's ability to make you at ease is phenomenal and she was very glad that I had expressed interest in the position.
After this interview, I was set to move forward but later found out that another applicant (who had entered the process before me) was offered the position and they could not move forward with me at the time. However, I was immediately made aware that their interest in me was not superficial and they would keep me in mind should future positions open up. I was a bit disappointed and crestfallen because, when told this in the past, it usually meant I would never hear from them again.
Man, was I wrong! Another position soon opened up and they immediately reached out to me to continue the interview process. They welcomed me back into the process with open arms and had me continue where I had left off; I proceeded to the third interview with the Marketing Specialist, Candace. Another thorough, pleasant, and conversational interview completed and I moved onto the final interview with the regional manager. I won't repeat what I have said before but this followed the same feeling as all of the interviews: they were not just looking for someone to fill a seat. They wanted to know me, what drives and fulfills me, and wanted to really ensure that I felt the position was right for me and vice versa.
Shortly after, I received and accepted my offer to become a Leasing consultant. I am now in the process of completing paperwork and waiting for my background and drug screen so I can begin this amazing new adventure.
From the start, Sequoia has shown how different they are from other companies. Their personal touch, dedication, and ability to welcome is beyond measure and I cannot wait to start!
