I was referred to the company by a friend, and I was contacted immediately after my resume was handed over to the recruiter. The first interview was a very generic phone screen, and after that I was invited to two onsite interviews with 4 individuals for two hour long sessions. The first on-site interview went really well because I was interviewed by individuals that were relevant to the role I was being interviewed for. The second on-site interview was with individuals that had somewhat relevance to the role. The entire time it was stressed that they were looking for the perfect fit because they value their employees. After I sent my thank you notice, I was told that I would be called to talk about updates on next steps which lead me to believe that I was would be called back for a third time, and be presented with an offer. However, the recruiter called me to inform me that they were putting a hold on hiring and I would have to apply to the role once again to start the interview process over . She did not apologize or show any kind of empathy, rather she made it seem like it was completely normal for this particular company to hire a slew of candidates at once and put a hold on those that were not hired in their required time frame. For a company that is in the HR industry, I would have assumed that they would have proper strategies in place for hiring. However, that is clearly not the case. My only advice would be, ask if they plan to place the role you are interviewing for on hold anytime soon. It will save you from wasting your time.
