Job listing asked for a custom letter that included the general info about my background in editorial as well as my passions—what I liked to write about, what magazines I read, what I felt I could bring to Sensi—and asked for three writing samples. After submitting, I didn't hear back for a few weeks, but then the editor in chief reached out about some work she was looking to have done for the Colorado edition and set up a zoom interview. We spoke for about 20 minutes, had a great conversation—she outlined what type of articles she was looking for, listened to some of my ideas, and we agreed that I was up for the tasks and decided upon deadlines and rates—very reasonable. Simple process, nothing complicated, no bad vibes.
