I applied in-person. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Semtech (Morrisville, NC) in Jul 2010
Interview
they need ppl to help their summer work at that time i was a second yr phd student. the interview was like 4 hrs interview it was not hard
Positive experience
Average interview
Application
I applied through other source. I interviewed at Semtech (Bristol, England)
Interview
Two interview rounds (Bristol). First: principal, mostly listening, discussed my background. Second: principal + team lead + line manager; positive, supportive, patient; background discussion and some technical questions; strong match helped.
Two interviews, one with hiring manager and VP, the other with hiring manager and team member. First interview was general, the next was technical and situational. Interview ran over more than 30 minutes, which was a good sign for me.

Question 1
How would you handle a situation where you cannot get traction on an issue with a mother team?
I applied through university. I interviewed at Semtech (Burlington, ON) in Oct 2025
Interview
It was 30-45 mins. They had a multi-page booklet with a ton of questions ranging from unit prefixes to differential amplifiers. Though they are mostly all electrical engineering questions that range from basic circuit symbol knowledge, basic knowledge about capacitors , inductors, MOSFETs and BJTs. They also asked questions about various circuits like current mirrors, op amps, and differential amplifiers. The interview was all technical questions and they stressed that the results of the technical interview don't matter as long as you show interest in what they do. I will say this was probably the oddest (not in a bad way) job interview I've ever done.

Question 1
Tell me about a project where you used PSpice or LTSpice? They were just curious what circuit design software I used.
