Terrible, pulled out of the initial interview, was asked to do a panel interview at 9pm at night, pulled together a presentation and presented to people that had no idea what was going on. Bizarre
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Semrush
Interview
I had one call with a HR recruiter. Communication was prompt and professional. Good overview in the email of the process, timeline and who I'd be meeting with, excluding mention of the final round tasks. I found the actual interview itself completely lacking in substance and structure. I felt that I wasn't provided an environment to talk openly about how my experience is relevant to the role. The interview and conversation didn't flow and ultimately felt like a check box process. For example, the interview started with a 6 slides on SEMRush, all information that you'd expect the candidate to research as the bare minimum. I didn't learn anything new about the company. It was basically, he's our company, any questions? Additionally, it would be good to set an agenda and the purpose for the call so both parties know what they will get out of the call. Finally, when quizzed on the next steps, the recruiter said they would put my CV forward to the hiring manager and they'll decide whether they want to proceed. This essentially tells me that the interview was just for the sake of it, how can a hiring manager know what I can bring to the table if you're just going to send over my CV anyway, why bother speaking to me?
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Have you got experience selling to enterprises Have you overachieved on quotas Average sales cycle, deal size etc.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Semrush (Boston, MA) in Nov 2023
Interview
The role is for their new enterprise level solution, which was just beta launched but not yet live. They are hiring for enterprise reps to upsell existing accounts and hunt new enterprise logos.
Frustrating at times as they can't identify specifically what the enterprise customer is going to look like, or share projected quotas and other important sales metrics. At the same time, they expect that information from you.
Pay is below market rate for enterprise reps.
Probably a better opportunity for mid market reps to make first foray into enterprise sales (but why not just promote your internal sales team then?)

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Semrush (Brisbane)
Interview
Process took 5 weeks in total and included 4 interviews. HR, Hiring Manager, group task related role play and final senior manager. Some interviews were later in the evening due to timezone differences with Australia but that was OK.

Question 1
Sales process questions, why Semrush, why this role. Nothing too unusual.
