Was called in for a group interview session. We were around 10 candidates. After brief introductions, we were assigned a group task that we had to complete in 5 minutes. The assignment was a hypothetical situation where the group gets stranded on a deserted island and we have to choose 10 items from a large list of items that the interviewer read aloud. We have 5 minutes as a group to deliberate on which items to carry. A nominated person from the group will then have to justify the group's choice. The catch here was that the interviewer would read out the list only once and that too very fast!! The interviewer's accent made it difficult for the group to understand a few items. And we missed choosing those very few critical items that they expected us to. None from the group cleared this assignment and we were not called back for subsequent rounds. We left there perplexed. A tip for future interviewees... if you are in a group interview scenario, divide the task amongst yourselves. That is, start working or strategizing even before the interview session... while you are out there in the waiting area or interview room. This will certainly help.

I had four interviews and each time I asked about the salary I was told it would be discussed next time. I only learned the salary when they sent me a job offer! Hopefully, things have improved since then. Lack of transparency with salaries is very frustrating for the candidate and can save a lot of time.
