      Software Engineer Interview

      20 Mar 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Securly in Feb 2023

      Interview

Screening call was great but call with tech leader was very poor. Didn’t realize it was going to be a bunch of textbook programming pop quiz types of questions that I haven’t had in an interview since interviewing for my first job out of college. Questions were so basic and didn’t feel relevant to what a day to day job of a software engineer is. Just wanted me to list out data types, explain what typescript is, and basic things about JavaScript. Seemed like he wanted me to read definitions from a programming textbook. It was a video call but the guy had his camera off and felt very cold, which was a red flag for what their culture must be like. Interview felt very old school, not anything like all the other startups I’ve interviewed with where they ask about projects, planning process, working within a team, and real life job scenarios.

      Question 1

What is difference between JavaScript and typescript?

      Software Engineer Interview

      22 Jul 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Pune City
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Securly (Pune City) in May 2017

      Interview

The interview process is similar to if you are applying to Microsoft. 1 Telephonic, 1 Online Test, 1 Skype Round, 3 face to face rounds, followed by management round and then if you have some patience left then there will be an HR Round. The interview process is lengthy as hell. The patience might run out for you and you may want to give it up in between as I am not sure why the hell you need to take so many rounds instead you can have all the panel seated together and take one interview if you want the person to be validated by so many people unless you are Google, Facebook, Amazon or Microsoft.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Interview questions were mostly on concepts, regarding online test - that will be a tough one and it is better if you do objective first as the programming questions might be too lengthy & most of the questions during face to face can be repetitive.
