I applied online. I interviewed at SecTek (Charlotte, NC) in Nov 2021
Interview
Received a call to set up a video interview with three individuals. On the day of the interview, only one person participated. Video interview went really well. Recruiting Manager was very kind and relatable. Was told that another individual would be calling for a separate interview but never received a call from that person. I eventually received a call for a face to face interview at a hotel. Drove almost an hour there only to feel like I had honestly wasted my time. Interview seemed rushed, individuals seemed a little stand offish and all over the place. Interrupted quite a few times while answering questions. Didn’t feel as though I received a fair interview. No one had read my resume and didn’t seem interested when trying to explain my background. Lasted about 15-20 minutes. I knew after the second interviewer arrived that I would not be moving forward. Reached out to voice my concerns after the interview and I never heard back. Don’t waste your time with this company. There are so many professional companies out there looking for actual qualified Human Resource Generalists. Overall bad experience. Will never apply again.

Interview
Don’t even bother applying. I had a horrible candidate experience with them. I applied for their HR generalist role in their HQ, did the initial phone screening, then an in-person interview, and same day of the in-person I got a verbal offer. I asked if I can have more time to think about it and they said until Thursday which was about less than 48 hours. Then next morning, I called to ask about the benefits since they never mentioned it throughout the interview process and was referred to the benefits specialist who kindly sent me information. They also would not send a written offer letter until the verbal was confirmed so I could not really see the benefits such as PTO, holidays, health package. I called them back in the afternoon with the intention of accepting verbally and was sent to voicemail. I left a voicemail and not even an hour later, they called me and left a voicemail & email informing that they had selected another candidate?? It was not even 24 hours and they decided to move on to another candidate? I don’t think I was a difficult candidate, I wanted basic information about the position, benefits and company and time to figure out my commute/situation before confirming. Lesson learned that I should have said yes to get the offer, but another lesson learned if they are ready to move on to another candidate in less than 24 hours, think about how they’ll treat you as an employee. This was for a corporate role, so imagine how they’ll treat frontline and operation roles - probably worst. Truly a red flag company for unprofessionalism and lack of honesty. I would avoid and go to other companies doing security work.
