      Sales Associate Interview

      3 Feb 2010
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Pasadena, CA
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Sears (Pasadena, CA) in Oct 2009

      Interview

My interview process consisted of four interviews. The first was a prescreening interview which went well. I was scheduled for a 1st interview the following week. My 1st interview went very well and I was scheduled for a 2nd interview with a department manager the same day. My second interview went well and seemed to be leading to a job offer but at the last second he noticed a skill on my application that led him to ask if I would be interested in a different hire paying position. I then set up another manager who could hire me for this other department. I return the next week for my 2nd second interview only to find out that I am not qualified for the hire paying position and that the man who gave me my second interview was not even a manager in the department I was originally applied for. I then set up another interview with someone who could hire me for the original position My fourth interview was delayed due to a staff meeting, it was delayed three hours. I could hear the meeting going on and all the department managers were getting yelled at by the store manager for not doing their jobs. at the end of this meeting i had my interview and was offered a position, i declined

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Sears (Clay, NY)

      Interview

It was my first job, and it was a fairly standard interview at the time. It was difficult, because the hiring manager was not there, despite having should been. I was told to check back for three days in a row, before the person that made me the offer just happened to be there and decided to conduct an interview after three days of checking back.
