      Digital Content Manager Interview

      11 Jan 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Los Angeles, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Scripted (Los Angeles, CA) in Jan 2022

      Interview

I applied for this position with my resume and cover letter. Based on both, it should VERY clear in terms of whether or not the hiring manager thinks I'm a good fit. The entire interview was a complete waste of my time. Firstly, the executive (VP) wanted someone with a digital agency experience. Ummm....did you not look at my resume? Did you not read my cover letter? Based on my resume alone should tell you that I did not come from a huge digital agency. But do I have content management experience? I have tons. In fact, I get recruiters emailing me saying how impressed they are. Also, I do have a master's degree, lots of certifications including project management. I was essentially the director of content at my last company. This person was very snooty, rude, and basically asked me to interview just to tell me within the first 10 minutes that I didn't have what it took and that they were looking for someone with a digital agency experience. What?! So then why did you interview me to begin with? You saw my resume. Why interview someone if you know they do not have what you're looking for? Just to make yourself feel better and shut them down within 10 minutes? Don't bother interviewing people if they're not from some huge digital agency then. If you're that picky - don't bother interviewing anyone unless they have some agency pedigree. This person said that they wanted someone who had experience managing 15 accounts at once. Huh? That's NOT what your ad said. Their ad stated someone with 2 years of digital agency experience or 2 years of marketing experience. How can you put down 2 years and then in the interview act like this is suddenly a position for a senior individual? Then, when you interview a senior-level content manager like myself, you act like I don't have enough experience? Are you kidding me? I also didn't like that they are super hard-core about doing a background check on everyone. In fact, it's there #1 question they put out there to everyone who applies. This company seems super paranoid and very hard to please. Anyone with a project management certification and content management experience could've easily done this job. If you're looking to apply to this position, look elsewhere. This company is so snooty. The VP who interviewed me was the absolute WORST. Thanks but no thanks.
