I interviewed at Scottish Parliament (Edinburgh, Scotland)
Interview
Good, thorough and challenging - conversational not confrontational. Sense of camaraderie amongst fellow staff is reassuring.Only criticism would be that the senior person meant to interview me failed to appear.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
- What attracted you to this role? How does your previous experience correspond to this role, do you think it will be a significant step up in seniority etc.
It was an open and transparent process with clear communication throughout. I was put at ease by the people interviewing me and there was plenty of time for giving answers.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
questions were broad and on motive for applying and experience.
I applied in-person. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Scottish Parliament (Edinburgh, Scotland) in May 2023
Interview
Moderately challenging for a senior position, the benefit for me was that I had begun my career in that environment so had most of the requisite knowledge. I would say the more challenging aspect was discussing management style, campaign awareness, skills development you've proactively undertaken which differentiates you from other juniors etc.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I have a hundred other candidates who would like this position, what makes you the right candidate?
(This is broad, and also I happened to be being interviewed by colleagues so its uncomfortable promoting yourself)
