      Editorial and Production Assistant Interview

      6 Jun 2019
      Anonymous employee
      London, England
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Samedan (London, England) in Oct 2017

      Interview

Copy test, chat with MD and Managing Editor. No tour of office, no offer of tea or coffee but did get some water. MD chatty, Managing Editor poker-faced. 20 minute chat, with MDa talking about herself. She obviously interviews hundreds of people a year. I showed her a portfolio and she was impressed

      Question 3

Are you aware that you will only last ten weeks in this job because the MD screams and shouts, that the Managing Editor wants to leave three weeks into his job, that people don't put the company on their LinkedIn profile and that the atmosphere in the office is like Hitler's bunker in May 1945?

      Editorial and Production Assistant Interview

      9 Nov 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Samedan (London, England) in Sept 2017

      Interview

Applied online and received a phone call asking me to come in for an interview. Arrived and was given a copyediting task before two interviewers came in. They had obviously decided on the good cop bad cop tactic, no attempt to put me at my ease. Neither asked me anything about myself, launched straight into the most common interview questions through which i was rushed, they appeared to be trying to put me off the job/intimidate me which considering the terrible salary seemed counterproductive. Interview lasted about 20 minutes and I came away with a really bad feeling about the company.
