A conversation by telephone with the recruiting manager, who is no longer with the company. It was pleasant, and I learned a lot about the company. I pretty much got the job on the spot, although I have heard since then that the company now requires a short quiz/test before you get hired. This short quiz/test requires research and a summary to be completed/written within a couple hours, and is hard to schedule if the company's computer system goes down, or if the scheduler has terrible communication (I witnessed both).
