I applied through other source. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at SSP Group (Indianapolis, IN) in Aug 2011
Interview
I worked my way up through the ranks, starting as a prep cook and then promoted to supervisor and then manager. I was never truly "interviewed" for the position as I was an internal promotion. I did attempt to make some sort of negotiation for my hourly supervisor rate and was shot down because they were welll aware that I needed the job - they told me they couldn't afford any more than that. A month later, they promoted another person - who had worked with them for longer than I had - to a rate $1.50 higher an hour than what they gave me.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at SSP Group (Newark, NJ) in Sept 2018
Interview
Very professional, be prepared to answer questions about your long-term plans in the industry. The interview process is relaxed and personable. They tell you about the company's plans and how you can be a part of them. Very clear communication.
Easy and fast I got a callback the next day was working within the week. Trained for only a week before taking on the work load by myself. The process of the interview was easy and quick. They need a better training system to help employee's with the workload.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at SSP Group (Bloomington, MN) in Jun 2013
Interview
Very relaxed. They asked very few questions, and it seems like they put very little effort into their hiring process. There are several family member, spouses, friends, etc. that they seem to use as a pool for hiring. They also offer very poor wages for managers.
