Interviewed in two departments. The interview process was friendly, professional at first, but then became disorganized and chaotic within one of two departments , with some unmet expectations or at best a lot of loose ends and miscommunication. Many months later, I am unsure whether I am still under consideration per the garbled process, though it is clear in reality that I am not. The process with the other department was very streamlined, professional and clear, and I was impressed by the process there, even though I did not get an offer. It seems as though there is a good system in place at SLAC overall, but some of the communication got very mixed up within one specific department, perhaps really with one specific person who I suspect was very overwhelmed at the time. Extremely frustrating. Beyond frustrating.
