      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SGS Technologie (Jacksonville, FL) in Jan 2021

      Interview

I was recruited through LinkedIn. I did a preliminary phone interview. It went well, I was told the pay, and I was pushed into the next in person interview. It was very underwhelming, and they showed me around the office where I actually saw the names of the other candidates on their desks. Pretty unprofessional. The only women working there were the CEO's wife and a secretary. I "passed" that interview, and I was supposed to have a meeting with the CEO. He didn't make it to his own meeting. I was waiting for over half an hour. He called to reschedule, and I did, only to have the most insulting interview possible. After wasting my time, and going through all these interviews, they slap the $15 an hour for this position on me. That's not what I was told, I tell them, then the recruiter that had told me, LIES and says he never told me an amount for pay. What a joke. I told them I would think about it, and they told me they would reconsider the pay. I didn't hear from them for over three days. In that timeframe my grandmother died. I tried calling them over 3 times to rescind my offer and withdraw. No one could get back to me. Then as if wasting my time and losing my grandparent wasn't enough with the blatant disrespect, they finally reach out the next week telling me I didn't get the job. As if I would ever work for such a dysfunctional company. Such a joke.

      Question 1

If you needed to cover a manhole, what shape would you use and why?

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at SGS Technologie

      Interview

I interviewed four different times - the first two were via Zoom, final two in person. The third interview involved the CEO, and the fourth was again with the hiring manager who didn’t seem to have any relevant questions to ask me. Four interviews for what the company considers to be an entry level role is ridiculous. I was asked several questions about my high school experience despite having graduated from high 6 years ago, with 6 years of work experience and two degrees under my belt. The CEO asked what my high school GPA was, despite the GPAs from both of my degrees being in front of him on my resume. Also, be warned: The CEO asked a couple red flag questions, such as whether I take lunch breaks. Another red flag was when the hiring manager consistently complained about all the mistakes his employees made that he is always having to fix. Additionally, the CEO tried to “bargain” me down to $15 an hour despite the fact that the job was advertised to be 35-36k a year. When I told him it was significantly less than I was currently making, he continued to try to negotiate. Again, the fact that I was required to interview four separate times for a position paying $15 an hour was insulting. Be prepared to know basic information about the company, answer the standard interview questions, have good questions to ask in return, and for one or two math-related questions.
