I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Royal Mail (Bolton, England) in Apr 2025
Interview
The most difficult part was the initial online assessment with the hazard perception part. There are quite a few questions to go through online. But the in person interview was straight forward enough and a positive experience overall.
Some online questions and tests including hazard perception, which were fine. Then an in person interview that was meant to be with the manager and another person but the manager never showed up - he was "on a call" the whole time. I initially thought that this probably meant he had already chosen an internal applicant for the job.
The interview went really well however, and I received the impression that I stood a good chance of being hired.
The interview was on a Thursday and I was notified on Monday that I had not got the job.

Very easy, got sent interview questions beforehand. Manager was nice and very honest about the role. It was quick and informal and answered all my questions. One of the easiest interviews I’ve ever had.

Very simple except getting in when the actual distribution centre was closed was interesting, I wondered if it was a test if you could deliver a tricky parcel! (It wasn’t)
