      Case Manager Interview

      8 Aug 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Brooklyn, NY
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Royal Care (Brooklyn, NY) in Apr 2018

      Interview

The Director at the time presented the company very well. She admitted that the company needed a lot of work but that they were open to and wanted change. She said that input was strongly encouraged and that they worked as a team and you were never stuck alone. They were 100% in compliance. Insurance starts on the first day and you get five days of vacation the first year. And then she left without notice. The day before leaving, I voiced that I was new and that my caseload was crazy. The supervisor was there too and they agreed to decrease my caseload. Never happened. After I resigned, my colleagues continue to call me to vent about the situation. Other workers walk off the job, only to return because they had nothing lined up. And the company takes them back and is used to it. After walking out, I was told by a colleague that the new director said there was miscommunication with the old one and that we weren't really Case Managers and that the process of chance would start soon. It wasn't clear what the change was, and after rolling out the change the Case Managers felt more burdened than before. There was also a lot of conflict over what role belonged to whom. Sexism plays a role and they constantly seek input from male staff. Insurance didn't start until after probation. And you can't use vacation until you complete your first anniversary.
