I applied online. I interviewed at Ross Stores

      Interview

I had two interviews with this company a few years apart, and both were messed up at the higher levels, possibly within HR. First one was for an associate position. It was over the phone and appeared to go very well. The recruiter offered me a job during the interview, and I accepted. They emailed me paperwork to complete, and I sent it back after filling it out. Then, they sent me an email instructing me to call a number to provide "more information". The info they wanted wasn't specified. I called multiple times, they never answered the phione. I left multiple messages, and they never called back. About 2 weeks later, they sent an email claiming they couldn't hire me, because I refused to provide the "addition information". Basically, they either didn't want to hire me and did this to avoid saying "no", or I lost a job because they couldn't afford to pay someone to answer the phone. A couple years later, I aplied for a supervisor job. Again, the interview was over the phone, but this one didn't go well. The recruiter acted like he was completly clueless. He constantly asked "What position did you apply for?" and "Where is the job located?". I don't even remember how many times he asked those questions throughout the entire interview. He also preceded every question with an "um" or "ah", and he was very hesistant to answer my questions. Honestly, it felt like someone told him to call me but failed to tell him why, or maybe the guy was just stoned that day. In short, don't even wast your time applying to this company. Even after a couple years, something is fundamentally broken at the coporate or HR level. The interview proccess is completely worthless untill the company can set actuall standards for this process.
