The HR round was smooth , questions were asked about my qualifications, knowledge about crypto and additionally suggestions were also given as to what to prep for the next round .
In the hiring manager round, the interviewer was late and he then asked if I could stay a bit longer ( over time ) to which I agreed. Very generic questions were asked. When I asked what was the intent or goal of the new hire was , I was simply told that they need an extra hand … I was a bit surprised by these responses and questions as there was no indication that the hiring was serious at all . When I proceeded to present my case study I was cut short and was told that it’s getting too late ( like after saying that the interview was gonna extend because the person / hiring manager arrived late ) . I was then instead asked to share links of my work which I had already sent during my application. I was told he would check them later . There was no overview provided about the culture , the work or the real expectations from the job role . The interviewer seemed extremely unprepared and unsure of what he was looking for specific this role .
It felt like either a joke or that the company was trying to collect portfolios of interviewees and was less interested in the person and more interested in taking away people’s work ( I suspect for feeding to ai , I say this because conversations about using ai for work was quite a highlight during the HR round which is the norm these days but the lack of interest and genuine inquiry about the candidate’s experience during the hiring manager round confirmed my suspicions )
