Had 5 interviews plus the initial recruiter screening call. I have now worked with two different recruiters for two different positions, and the recruiting experience has been terrible both times. The first time, after having 5 interviews, they did not let me know when I would hear back by. After chasing, they mentioned that I would hear back by a very specific date, and once the date came around, it would be crickets. They did this 3 times in a row. On the final date they said they would let me know the final decision, I followed up, and proceeded to receive an out-of-office message saying they would be out for about a week. After I followed up with their manager, they let me know they decided to go with a different candidate. I don't understand at all why they refuse to update their candidates, especially the ones who stay checking in/following up. It was extremely unprofessional, and put me off of the company as a whole.
A few months later, I tried applying to a different position. Different recruiter which was a slightly better experience, but that is not saying much. They let me know a distinct timeline of when I would hear back by on the final decision (after another 5 interviews), and on the final day I followed up, and received yet another out-of-office reply saying that they are out for at least another 10 days. I am not sure why the recruiters here don't update the candidates, extremely unprofessional and terrible experience. Would recommend hiring new recruiters because if it was just a one-off, that would be fine, but from both of my experiences as well as the ones I have been reading on Glassdoor - as well as speaking with current employees - it seems that the entire recruiting department is extremely disorganized and careless.
