I applied online. I interviewed at Rohde & Schwarz (Singapore)
Interview
There were technical questions related to the job scope asked by the interviewer, as well as some personal questions to gauge your personality and see if you would be a good fit for the team.
I had an initial interview with a very friendly HR representative, followed by a second interview with a hiring manager, a technical team member, and another HR representative. Everyone I spoke with was professional and pleasant throughout the process.
The second interview felt somewhat disjointed, as different participants seemed to focus on different topics and priorities, which made the discussion feel rushed.
One thing that surprised me was that the job posting emphasized Embedded Linux, which aligned well with my background. During the interviews, however, I learned that the actual technology stack and role differed significantly from what had been described in the posting. Better alignment between the advertised position and the actual work would have helped set clearer expectations.
After two to three weeks, I was informed that the company had decided not to proceed with hiring for the position and that no candidate would be selected. While I appreciate receiving a clear update, it was unfortunate to learn this after completing the interview process.
Overall, everyone I met was friendly and professional, but I felt that the process and role definition could have been better coordinated.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The interviews focused mainly on my background and experience. There was a combination of technical discussions and traditional behavioral questions, including strengths and weaknesses and examples of handling conflicts. Since multiple interviewers had different areas of focus, the conversation covered a broad range of topics within a limited amount of time.
