Overall experience is a bit frustrating.
The first part was a take-home task, creating a test plan for the rider taxi application. Not really a difficult one, rather time-consuming.
The second part was a video-call with a hiring manager, who didn't seem to be prepared for an interview at all.
He had no idea about my previous experience and even after I made a self-introduction, he kept asking me things I had just covered. It was like I was talking to myself.
Interview didn't have any particular structure. The manager just jumped from one thing to another, which was frustrating, to say the least.
We never discussed the take-home task, that I spent a week working on, which seemed like nobody actually cared about it. He only mentioned it once at the very end of the conversation for a small reference.
Questions were way too simple and basic, like 'test any object you choose'. It's a beginner-level type of question6 nothing more.
As far as I got from the convo, the QA team does not seem to have processes established, I was told that "every team does what they think is applicable". And, besides that, I was told that there's no hierarchy in the team, it is organized 'horizontally', so I assume, getting promoted here would be an issue.
I assume I don't have to say I wasn't very happy with the interview, however they surprised me even more!
Instead of normal rejection mail, I received a generated 'your application is declined'. Application rejection mail after having a video call with the manager.
Dear HR, I think your candidates deserve more respect.
