I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Robert Bosch (Farmington Hills, MI) in Apr 2023
Interview
Interview process happened in a number of parts over several weeks. After submitting the initial application and being invited to next steps, I took a spatial reasoning test, basic mathematics test, and a personality test. Following this I was invited to a one-way recorded interview. I was asked to share my high school diploma which was a process to request and receive as someone who graduated high school ten years ago (and with two Bachelor degrees which were not acceptable for employment eligibility for whatever reason). After receiving confirmation, I had a panel interview over Microsoft Teams with two engineers and a project manager that were all different than the names I was given. Questions were basic STAR behavioral questions and were straightforward. A week after the interview I received word that they decided to hire no one for the position. I have a degree in Computer and Information Science and was able to speak to technical situations that I experienced conflict, lead a team, learned a new skill and the like, but they wasted 6-8 hours of everyone's time with all of the hurdles we needed to jump through. I was excited about this opportunity to enter the automotive space, but the experience really soured me on working with this or other similar companies.
