We are sorry that you feel that you didn’t have a great experience when applying for a role at Ridgeway. Upon receipt of your application, we felt that you would not be suitable for the role as you did not meet many of our essential skills and experience requirements. However in an effort to prove yourself, you suggested that you completed our UI developer test, hence the reason for the lengthy gap between your application and the test being sent to you. Usually, we do not send our UI developer test to candidates unless we are confident that the candidate is going to be experienced enough to successfully complete it and progress to a face-to-face interview, however, you were keen to complete it for us. There is no set time limit for this test, but we did explain you that it can take around 6 hours to complete which you were happy to do. The results that we received unfortunately did not meet the level required for the available position.
We are always keen to develop and nurture our own talent in-house, however, our current requirements are for someone who has solid commercial UI development experience. Bringing someone on board who does not meet our criteria would ultimately be setting the successful candidate up for failure which is something that we do not want to do. The team is small, and we were unable to ensure we could provide the additional mentoring and support needed. Ultimately we need to ensure that the role and candidate are the right fit for both the applicant and Ridgeway, so that expectations are clear and supportable.
