It was a three-stage interview process. I interviewed with two professionals in the first and second stage, and the final stage was scheduled to be with the hiring manager.
I was really excited about the job the team and the interview process was going well until the final stage.
The Talent acquisition manager contacted me to inform me that the hiring manager wanted to interview me today. She only had availability at 11:30 AM, giving me less than 40 minutes to prepare. As I was 20 minutes away from home, I requested to push the interview back by only 15 minutes.
The recruitment manager said she can reschedule the interview but it was canceled within five minutes at 11.30 am , citing that the manager had urgent matter to attend to but they will keep me posted for a new time slot. Not long after, I received a call saying they are not taking my application further without even completing the final interview.
It seems that my inability to be available on extremely short notice (30 minutes) was the reason for my rejection. It was really disappointing to be rejected so abruptly, especially after investing time and energy in the process. It felt like my time and effort weren't valued.
