The job I applied for had a heavy component of GRC and security operations management, The interview process was pretty straightforward, simple and relevant since it covered only things that would actually be covered in the job.
There were two rounds followed by an onboarding decision call.
First round was with an amazing HR who asked me about my background and past experience and relevancy to the job description.
Second round was with the CISO who dived a little into technical aspects of the job and asked me about processes and procedures, use-cases of different compliance frameworks, risk assessments and such.
Given the size of the company, I frankly expected a flawed interview process and lack of professionalism that I previously have encountered even with big tech and established companies' process. There was clear cut communication throughout the process and no ghosting of any kind. Regular updates about the application kept me relaxed and in loop.
