I wanted to share some feedback regarding my interview experience, as I believe it may help improve the process for future candidates. Over the past several weeks, I completed all three stages of the interview process — the initial screening, the senior‑level technical assessment, and the final technical and behavioral interview. I was informed that I had successfully cleared all rounds and had been selected. Based on this confirmation, I remained fully committed and responsive throughout the follow‑up period. However, despite multiple follow‑ups over the next month, the only updates I received were that the team was “awaiting managerial approval.” Eventually, I was informed that the team had moved forward with another candidate due to an earlier joining timeline requirement. As candidates, we invest significant time, effort, and energy into preparing for and participating in each stage of the process. Receiving a selection confirmation and then learning—after a month of waiting—that the decision changed due to a timeline requirement that was never communicated earlier was disheartening. Clear communication about critical criteria such as joining timelines, internal approval status, and decision‑making constraints would help set the right expectations and avoid situations where candidates feel misled or left in uncertainty.
