I applied online. I interviewed at Red Herring (Ann Arbor, MI) in Dec 2019
Interview
There is a stupid research project they give you and then there will be a phone interview with the "Director" where he asks questions about the assignment. When you ask him what the actual job is, this all has nothing to do with it. Oh, and it's also an unpaid position with lots of work.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Red Herring
Interview
One phone interview with initial screening following by an onsite interview with the director and his assistant. The process is smooth and friendly. Office is rather small but ok experience overall.

I applied through university. I interviewed at Red Herring
Interview
Did a phone interview of about 30min. Most are behavioral questions with a mini case at the end. The interviewer is really nice and would guide you to the answer he expects and is also willing to explain finance terms you don't know.

Interview
I had a 30-minute call with the Ann Arbor director and was informed of the decision two weeks later. They neglected to mention that the internship was unpaid and seemed to brag about how much they work their employees.
