      Onboarding Executive - EMEA Interview

      28 Jul 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Re-Leased (London, England) in Jul 2025

      Interview

During the first-round interview, I was asked questions about my marital status and family planning. These questions are not only inappropriate but also potentially illegal in many jurisdictions, as they are unrelated to job performance and may reflect biased hiring practices. This line of questioning made me uncomfortable and raised serious concerns about the company's values and approach to professional boundaries. I declined to proceed to the second round of interviews as a result. Job candidates should be assessed based on their skills, experience, and qualifications, not personal life choices. I hope the company takes this feedback seriously and improves its interview training and compliance with employment laws moving forward.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      - Marital status. - Family status and plans.

Thank you for reaching out and sharing what happened during your interview with us. I'm really sorry to hear about your experience - that's absolutely not okay, and I can understand how uncomfortable and concerning that must have been for you. You're right to bring this to our attention. Asking about marital status or family planning in interviews isn't something we should ever be doing, and it goes against everything we stand for as a company. We're taking your feedback seriously and are already looking into what went wrong. We're going to make sure our hiring team is refreshed with training so this doesn't happen to anyone else. Every candidate deserves to be treated with respect and fairness. Again, I'm truly sorry you had this experience. Thank you for giving us the chance to learn from this and take steps to ensure this doesn't happen.
