I got a referral from a friend about a web developer job very close to my house and contacted the recruiter right away. My contract was ending at my previous job and I was in the market again. I sent the recruiter my resume and was immediately considered for the position. I went in for an interview within a few days. At the interview I met everyone I would be working with and they all seemed nice. There were 3 employees interviewing me with questions right after another. As soon as I would answer a question, another employee would ask a question. There seemed to be no break in between. I had never been in an interview like this before. Then the interview ended abruptly and we all said thank you and that they're get back to me within a week or so. I thought I bombed the interview since it seemed to end like that.
Within a day or two, they offered me the job. I was excited and happy. I accepted the job. But within 3 days before I was to start I get a call from the recruiter saying there has been a change in scope for the project and that the CIO of the IT department decided to outsource the project to another team in Atlanta, GA. I had a signed contract for Randstad. I was extremely upset. I had never experienced anything like this before. Now, I had no job.
And it's a shame how I was treated for this project. How am I suppose to support my family with companies "changing the scope" of jobs within days of the starting date? Something is terribly wrong with Randstad. Please beware!
