      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Rally House (Kansas City, MO) in Sept 2017

      Interview

The position was a two part interview process. The first interview was held with the DM and was a slightly informal interview. He pulled up my resume and we kind of went over my work history, skills and qualifications. He asked a few questions, some situational and some just to get to know you. After the interview, I was contacted by a recruiter within hours to schedule a second interview for the MIT position with the company recruiter and the COO (chief operations officer) of the company. This interview was held at the corporate office in Lenexa, KS. Second interview was much more formal and consisted of the two interviewers alternating asking questions. The second interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Rally House (Allentown, PA) in Mar 2018

      Interview

They reached out to me very quickly for a first interview that was very introductory, but then it took weeks on end to get any sort of response. I basically had to pester the manager to even get a response. I was told that my lack of coaching and lead position experience didn't make me a good fit for MIT (which is fair), so a Key Holder position would be better. I was told to come in for "test days" during their hot market [free labor], when my current position was in hot market as well. It took 3 weeks after that to get anywhere in a conversation, so we ended up doing a 2nd interview. This was more like a normal interview, but it was basically to tell me that I didn't have enough experience for a Key Holder (using the same reason as to why she recommended KH position in the first place. I drove through a giant winter storm to get there, basically just to be told no in person when it could have been done through e-mail. The best part was when she asked me what a "selling culture" was and when she had a current KH explain, she had no idea what it was. She used my answer against me, but not to the current Key Holder. I found it to be an unreasonable way to tell someone they did not get the job, but that's just me.

      Rally House response
      8y
Hello- Thank you for your interest in Rally House! I'm sorry you felt that our interviewing process was delayed. This is not the norm for RH. Sometimes when two people are trying to work out schedules during a HM situation, it can be delayed on both ends, especially when the applicant is in HM as well. We have procedures in place for how our interviewing process runs, and if the SM thought you were not a good fit for the MIT (and you agreed in your statement) then it could be a coaching situation if hired for a KH position. You are then interviewed with a different form of questions for the KH position. If the SM didn't feel you were responding with what Rally House looks for, then the position will not be offered. We DO NOT have employees come in and work w/out being paid and I'm sorry you felt that you had to come in during a storm, we would have gladly rescheduled to insure your safety. I will be sure to check in with our PA store to make sure that the hiring process has a quicker turn around so that we can give immediate feedback to the candidates.
