I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Rakuten Group (Hong Kong) in Jul 2025
Interview
The interview was brief and focused almost entirely on sales metrics. The role is essentially retail phone sales, with a strong emphasis on pitching the investment platform to your personal network—friends and family included. It felt similar to a multi-level marketing setup, with aggressive KPIs and little room for ramp-up. The hiring manager was candid in saying most people don’t last more than three months, which speaks volumes about the pressure and turnover. If you're not comfortable with high-volume cold calling and personal outreach, this may not be the right fit.
