I applied online. I interviewed at RQ Construction (Carlsbad, CA) in Nov 2022

      Interview

When they tell you the pay rate is $25-$30 its totally misleading. They have no intention of paying you close to $30 an hour. It's a come-on. From what they described, it's slave labor for $25 an hour.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

It's not that the interview process was hard, they were very thorough, and I very much understood that and can appreciate their process. It's just from what they described the job to be and what they were looking for and the experience I brought to the table. Don't advertise your pay scale to be $25-$30 and then say, your only paying $25.

      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at RQ Construction (Carlsbad, CA) in Apr 2021

      Interview

The process consisted of a 45 minute phone interview, followed by "homework", and a in-person meeting. The phone interview questions were general and answers were typed up for other managers. The homework involved copying their PDF PO into a word document, matching an excel spreadsheet, and drafting an email to an upset subcontractor. The interviewers went over my mistakes during the in-person meeting. My mistakes were minor like not adjusting the center line, underlining and bolding. After the in-person interview they send a questionnaire to references and/or employers. They said it was important to see how I would handle criticism. Overall, it interesting experience, but I was not offered the position.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They asked for an example of a difficult situation I experienced at work and how I over came it.
