The interview was scheduled at 9 AM at the lobby in Crowne Plaza Hotel. After waiting for a couple of minutes, I have received an email instructing me to come up to the restaurant where the interview will take place. Deputy Managing Director and Senior Account Manager were seated and having their breakfast. They had their undivided attention towards the food. While one had a plate of waffles the other had pancakes. It took some effort to ask the question, "Tell us about yourself", while chewing the food.
Indeed I am not new to attending business meetings over lunch or dinner, but this was at a whole new level. It rather seemed like interacting with two hungry sailors from a shipwreck. At times they left the table to get more food, which was hilarious. During the interview, they informed me that I had to work from home since the organization did not have an office in the region. Also informed was that their sole client in the region requires support as none of them spoke the language or had any media connections. These could have put in a way a bit more professional.
They seemed unaware when it came to the vision and focus of their own organization or hierarchy. To sum it up I felt the organization is amateur and employs freshers and relies on gathering new clients.
