      Senior Salesforce Developer Interview

      18 Mar 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Vancouver, BC
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at RBC (Vancouver, BC) in Sept 2024

      Interview

The interview process at RBC for the Senior Salesforce Developer role was structured and well-organized. It consisted of multiple stages, including: Initial HR Screening: A recruiter reached out to discuss my experience, skills, and expectations. They provided insights into the role, RBC's Salesforce ecosystem, and the interview process. Basic questions about my background, certifications, and salary expectations. Technical Assessment (Optional): In some cases, candidates might receive a take-home assignment or a live coding challenge related to Salesforce development. It included Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Triggers, and best practices in Salesforce. Technical Interview: Conducted by a panel of Salesforce developers or architects. Covered Apex, LWC, Integrations (REST/SOAP), Data Modeling, CI/CD, and Deployment Strategies. Some scenario-based questions, such as handling governor limits, best practices for large data volume (LDV), and troubleshooting complex Salesforce issues. Behavioral & Cultural Fit Interview: Led by a hiring manager or senior team members. Questions focused on past experiences, teamwork, Agile methodology, handling deadlines, and collaborating with stakeholders. STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) method was encouraged for responses. Final Discussion & Offer: A final round with leadership or HR to discuss expectations, team dynamics, and RBC’s work culture. If selected, an offer was extended, followed by background verification. Overall, the process was smooth, and the interviewers were professional and knowledgeable.
